Wake Up People

 Wake up people.  That is the thought that I have found in my mind tonight.  My next thought though, is that if people are stupid, then that is their problem and not mine.  I do understand that they would also believe that I am the one who is blind and stupid.  The good thing though is that I honestly have no interest in their thinking or in hearing what they think of mine.  They can have a grand old time with their worldview, and I will stick with mine. 

I’m told that I’m obsessed with Donald Trump.  I suppose this is true because I am obsessed with just wanting him to be gone from having any place or significance in America politics.  

I really never before had much of an interest in politics until the beginning of the Trump era in 2016.  Now I don’t think that I will ever go back to not caring or considering it to be significant and important.  Oh dear Lord, please don’t tell me that I have Donald Trump to thank for this.  Horror.

I found myself recalling that the Santa Claus of years gone by smoked a pipe.  It was even described in the book,  Twas The Night Before Christmas.   “The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth.  And the smoke it encircled his head like wreath.”   It’s amazing how times can change.  Nowadays, a smoking Santa would never be part of a children’s book.  I don’t know if any other human beings in history have ever had the experience of seeing the world change so much, and in so many ways, over a few decades of their lives.  I doubt it.  What a pivotal time in human history have those of us living now found ourselves born into. So what is a poor Santa Claus to do without a pipe?  I don’t know.  Maybe replace it with a candy cane. #candyisdandy Okay, I was wrong.  I guess for the sake of tradition and a traditional story, Santa is still sometimes shown with a pipe, at least in this Dollar Tree version of  “Twas The Night Before Christmas”.  It’s a really stupid looking pipe though.  Maybe

Influencers

 It is interesting how creators of channels on YouTube and other social media sites, along with creators of podcasts and even television streaming channels, are called influencers.  Sometimes I feel as though I have influencers in my own mind.  They may affect my thinking or how I feel about things.  Just the short time ago, I felt one that said, “Perhaps chill out about S”.   On a sidenote, last night I watched a video on a YouTube channel that I appreciated.  Now, if only more people were open to listening to these kinds of things.  I appreciate intelligent people and their thoughts.  No one has to agree with everything and no one has to always be aware of and understand everything, but it is worth digesting food for thought and giving it some real consideration.  https://youtu.be/Gq5hZKZky2g?feature=shared
