Polls Schmolls

 It seems polls are dominating a big chunk of news media stories at this time.  It’s like people are desperate for predictors of the outcome of this election.  My feeling is that they aren’t going to tell us anything anyway when they are close or just giving us information about a particular ethnicity, age group or gender.  As crazy as it seems, we don’t know what is going to happen with this election.  I can understand people paying attention to polls though considering how important the outcome of this election actually is.

My prediction.  Harris Wins.  That wasn’t actually my prediction.  It belongs to my crazy higher self that I am not able to just believe.  What the results of the election will be, has yet to be determined.

North Pole Smoking Controversy

I found myself recalling that the Santa Claus of years gone by smoked a pipe.  It was even described in the book,  Twas The Night Before Christmas.   “The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth.  And the smoke it encircled his head like wreath.”   It’s amazing how times can change.  Nowadays, a smoking Santa would never be part of a children’s book.  I don’t know if any other human beings in history have ever had the experience of seeing the world change so much, and in so many ways, over a few decades of their lives.  I doubt it.  What a pivotal time in human history have those of us living now found ourselves born into. So what is a poor Santa Claus to do without a pipe?  I don’t know.  Maybe replace it with a candy cane. #candyisdandy Okay, I was wrong.  I guess for the sake of tradition and a traditional story, Santa is still sometimes shown with a pipe, at least in this Dollar Tree version of  “Twas The Night Before Christmas”.  It’s a really stupid looking pipe though.  Maybe

Influencers

 It is interesting how creators of channels on YouTube and other social media sites, along with creators of podcasts and even television streaming channels, are called influencers.  Sometimes I feel as though I have influencers in my own mind.  They may affect my thinking or how I feel about things.  Just the short time ago, I felt one that said, “Perhaps chill out about S”.   On a sidenote, last night I watched a video on a YouTube channel that I appreciated.  Now, if only more people were open to listening to these kinds of things.  I appreciate intelligent people and their thoughts.  No one has to agree with everything and no one has to always be aware of and understand everything, but it is worth digesting food for thought and giving it some real consideration.  https://youtu.be/Gq5hZKZky2g?feature=shared
