Money & Happiness
Money and happiness. My DD said something funny yesterday that made me laugh. She had asked me to bring her a Drumstick ice cream cone (a relatively inexpensive item), and when I handed it to her, she looked quite pleased. I said “Happiness Is! Right?!” She said “Yes!” A minute later, she said, “Whoever said that money doesn’t buy happiness was full of shit!” I laughed because I had thought of this plenty of times and I completely agree. I think the old adage that “money can’t buy happiness” is a load of horse shit. 🫢💩 I would completely agree that money cannot guarantee happiness. I however completely disagree with the idea that money can’t buy happiness. Money certainly can by happiness. Money can make life easier and relieve a lot of stress. Money can indeed do a lot to help bring a person happiness! It can’t guarantee it though. I have never disagreed with this. And there are people in the world who have more money than they could ever possibly need and still it is never enough. I do believe that money in excess can become a disease that can lead a person to suffer from greed or become caught up in needing more and more. For the average person though, not lacking money and having enough to meet their needs and to live comfortably and to enjoy life’s little pleasures can indeed go a long way to buy happiness. JMHO
