Vantablack

Image
I wish I had a piece of Vantablack material.  I would love to see what it really looks like and how it compares to other objects that are the color black.  This is the kind of crazy stuff that I used to post on my Facebook account.  Facebook’s prompt for posts was always “What’s on your mind?”. Well, my mind is likely to be thinking about crazy things like Vantablack material.  Yes, I am rather strange for my age.  Then again, I think I have been rather strange for every age I have ever been.   #iamstrangeformyage I like my too long (as my daughter would tell me) hashtag.  I don’t care. I want to make my claim as creator of this #.  I guess this means that I like being strange for my age. 😄

Chicken Joke

Image
Why did the chicken cross the road, roll in the mud and cross the road again? Because he was a dirty double-crosser.

Thread Bare Socks

Image
Sock TMI.  Today, I evidently aspire to write about socks.  Even when I buy some new socks, I have a problem with throwing away older ones that have any areas that have become threadbare.  I think that as long as the socks don’t actually have holes, they are still perfectly useful and functional, and there is no reason to throw away a sock that is still perfectly capable of serving it’s purpose.  The left side sock in my photo is an example of such a sock.  On the right is a sock that I decided this morning to throw away after wearing it resulted in a newly formed hole.  I won’t throw the two socks away as a pair though, only the one that actually developed a hole.  It’s a good thing that I have this place to write about such ridiculous things. 😂. I’m glad I got that off my mind. 😂 Ok, I have taken a new step in my ownership and management of socks.  I am still keeping my socks that are soon to develop holes, but I have put them together in a separate dresser drawer to be used as em

8 Billion People

Image
Sometimes when I’m out and I see new and unfamiliar faces everywhere that I go, I can’t help but think about the huge number of human beings that are presently living on our planet.  It is amazing to think that, in all but the smallest of towns, none of us can even know all of the people that live in the same town or city that we do, and all of these unknown people living so close to us are just a drop in the bucket of the worldwide sea of humanity.  This fact makes it rather unfathomable to imagine how many human beings exist around the entire planet.  Even more amazing is that each of us have lived and are living completely unique lives with unique stories that are a mixture of who we are and what experiences we have.  What a vast ocean of life stories and personal experiences are attached to all of the human lives that have taken place and are currently taking place on our planet.  Imagine all that could be understood by truly having knowledge of all of these stories and how they w

Less Is More

Image
No, I do not need to keep this empty expanding file.  I do not want to have stuff to fill it with.  If the files that I already have are too full, then I need to get rid of stuff in them.  It actually feels good to donate and liberate myself from stuff that I don’t need to hold onto.  It might actually be a good thing to have limited storage because it forces me to declutter my possessions and not just keep adding to unused stuff that is stored away.  Someone else can make use of it.  Less is more.

Tonight’s Photographic Memory

Image
I only just figured out that when I see images in my mind of things from the past, these are photographic memories.  I guess this didn’t occur to me before, because I thought that having photographic memory meant that a person could recall every moment of their life because it was all recorded in mental photos.  I can’t purposely choose to tune in to images of things from the past.  They just enter my mind of their own accord with no conscious choice on my part.  Anyway, when I was around kindergarten age,  I had a Raggedy Ann dress very similar to the one in this photo.  I saw an image of myself at around 5 years old wearing it.

Halloween Town

Image
It’s not yet Valentine’s Day but I find myself thinking of Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas”.  I can imagine a Halloween Town with real non animated characters.  😂 A delighted little witch from Halloween Town. 😀 🧙‍♀️ 🧡🖤🧡🖤  Trivia fact: “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” was the first fully animated feature film that was released by Walt Disney Productions in 1937. A Halloween Town barber. A Halloween Town plumber. Teachers from Halloween Town. A Halloween Town doctor.  Halloween Town firefighters. A Halloween Town auto mechanic. Halloween Town Trick or Treaters. A Halloween Town tavern keeper.  Halloween Town priests.

Have I Lost My Mind?

Image
I asked the AI image generator app that I have been using to generate some images of families.  Well, in those images of families, there were three children that look very oddly similar to children that I have worked with or taken care of.  This is a bit freaky. 🫨 The images didn’t look exactly like the actual children.  Two of them had different shades and types of hair and different skin tones, but I could still really see the resemblances even though the images also looked different.  Maybe other people wouldn’t agree or see it, but I did.  Sometimes I think that the images may have two or more faces morphed together, so it is possible to see more than one familiar person in a single image.  Am I the only person on the planet who has had weird experiences like this using AI apps?  I did a little google search to see if I could find any discussion on this topic but I did not find anything,  Maybe I have just lost my mind. 😳 I could choose to not use these apps, but why would I wan

A Backpacking Banana

Image
A backpacking banana.  Wouldn’t that be a site to behold?  It would probably be wise, though, for a backpacking banana to steer clear of any jungles or other locations with monkeys.  (I am easily entertained by AI generated images.  It is the forever, immature side of me.) 😋

Another Photographic Memory

Image
I hadn’t remembered that these belts existed or that I had one until I saw a mental image of myself at around 12 or 13 years old, wearing one of these belts with a pair of maroon colored corduroy pants.
