  I love the thrift store “Savers” that I used to go to in CT.  I had a chance to go there again yesterday and was able to get 20 gently used books for a grand total of $22 with tax for my niece Maddie and her, soon to arrive, first baby. 😄 What an amazing deal!  👏  Come soon baby. 💕🤞 Sometimes I really do have good luck with finding treasures when they are available.    

 Ha, I really don’t ever pack like a boss because I obsess to much over it.  We are heading back east tomorrow for a nephew’s weeding, though, and I packed yesterday.  This is some kind of a record for me! I might be able to get more than a couple of hours of sleep tonight. 😁

 Now what?  South Park is what.  Tonight I find myself entertaining the notion that I should watch South Park and in particular the episodes with Mr. Trump.  I only really know of South Park from catching parts of episodes when my husband was watching the show.  And I know how outrageous it can get.  Why on earth would I entertain a notion of making this a priority thing on my “Want To Do” list.  No one warned me about the age of 57.  Is it normal for one to lose their marbles around this time?  No, I am quite certain that it is not.  I understand that if I wasn’t already, I have most definitely turned into some fringe anomaly.   Oh yes, and I also thought I should watch the Jeffersons.

  Just some added reflections.  He tried to overturn a presidential election in a democratic nation of which he was president.  The United States of America. Dear Mr. Former President, You cannot gallop through a term of presidency on a bouncy horse as though it were child’s play, as your government officials are struggling to deal with the lack of having any real presidential leadership and also with the fear of retribution if they don’t show loyalty and support to their dysfunctional leader.  When you become the president of a nation, you kind of really do have to start taking all matters of government seriously, including representing yourself in a mature and trustworthy presidential manner.  This would require some actual worry and concern about the matters facing our nation and about our country being a strong and unified nation.  It would also require concern about your own words, image and behavior as our nations leader.  If this is not what you truly seek to do and feel if you

 I have lived with chronic headaches for most of my adult life.  Over the years, they have only become more persistent and frequent.  I have monthly migraine injections that really help as far as making my headaches more easily treated and controlled.  It is still normal for me though, to get some level of headache on most days and for days without any headache to be much less common.  This means that I need to take naproxen sodium on most days and migraine medication on days when this is not enough.  Well, something unbelievable has happened.  When I had my last angina episodes and ended up being admitted to the hospital, I got terrible headaches from nitroglycerin (I had to have it twice) and from one new heart medication (given to me one two days) that I couldn’t tolerate.  Once I finally got through these headaches though, something unbelievable happened.  It has been over a week and a half now, and I have not had a single headache since.  Every day I wake up without a headache and

TMI reflections on work as child care provider.   This is an afternoon for reflecting on my former work in being an early childhood caregiver and some thoughts about this profession and my own experiences.  I have been blessed to have had some very positive experiences with positions I have held after moving to Texas and there were also others that I made a choice to leave, all for very different reasons.  I found myself reflecting back to one in particular and to my experiences in regard to child care in a very different region of the country from where I had previously lived.  After moving to Texas, almost 15 years ago already,   I decided to return to offering my services as a private childcare provider as opposed to taking another center-based position for a number of reasons, the most significant of which is the fact that salaries for childcare providers in this region are terrible (at least as far as I last knew).   I know those thankful for any position that doesn’t pay less tha

I’ve finally got my Roomba running around to vacuum my bedroom floor.  This is always such a pain because there are so many obstacles to be moved and chords to be lifted up before I can let it start.   I’m afraid my poor Roomba got started and said “Jesus, I’ve got my work cut out for me today!”
