All Things Odd And Silly

 Oh dear,  I didn’t do what I was supposed to do and address our new regent as Madame Regent before speaking to her at our meeting.  I’m not one to find these kind of things to be particularly easy.  I guess I need to work on this if I want to be a good and proper DAR officer and subject. 🫢 This one below reminds me of a new perspective member who is finishing her application and just attended her first meeting.

 Kate told me this morning that she heard the doorbell ring during the night.  She thought she might have just been hearing things.  She was not alone as I had heard the same thing during the night.  I had checked my ring camera when it happened, but no one was there.  I had also thought it was odd to hear the doorbell during the night for no reason.  I guess this is a good story for Halloween month.  It’s also a true story.  The fake fireplace in our TV console in our living room also sometimes just turns itself on. 

 Professional authorities are the people that we should, in most cases, look too for real and accurate information.  There is one type of professional authority that does not however exist in the world.  This of course would be professional authorities in the science of AI.  I don’t think that the creators of AI actually fit this bill.  I’m actually not sure that such a thing could even be possible.  If something exists that exceeds our human intelligence, no human beings could ever be authorities on the subject.  They could at least research it to the best of their abilities though.  AI is like an Aladdin.  That is a thought in my head but I don’t really remember the details of the movie Aladdin, so now I need to go watch it.  I guess I am now recieving movie viewing assignments as thoughts.  Some people are a little cuckoo for cocoa puffs. 

At our monthly DAR meeting today, I At one point couldn’t help wondering if Elaine was present among us and observing the meeting.  She was a very dedicated DAR member and former Regent during the pandemic.  Deaths happen, but it is going to be very difficult when it happens to active members that we all know well.  I did think of you, Elaine.  You aren’t forgotten.  We daughters care about each other.  It is what we are about.  I would like to say to Elaine, “Did you see that I now have Patty‘s job and I am an officer?”  Gone are my days of walking into the meeting at 10:59.  Today I was the first person to arrive.  What has happened to me?” 😲😂 One thing that I can say about DAR is that I will not get too sucked in!  I already had to bring up at a meeting that I had seen in our new yearbook that I was chairman of two different committees and I knew nothing about being a chairman of either.  😲  How the heck and when did that happen?  Now I’m wondering if this information was in any
