All Things Odd And Silly

 I wonder if President Biden is still mentally cognizant enough to actually responsibly execute the office of the presidency.  Does the wording of that sentence even make sense or sound correct? This question was just in my mind and that was the wording that my brain came up with.  Oh yes, the latter part of that sentence sounds like the presidential oath of office.  I am the worst with history and politics.  I need to work on having better knowledge and understanding of both.  I guess I shouldn’t feel too bad.  I was talking to one of my fellow DAR members who is a supporter of Republicans and Donald Trump and she was confused and confessed that she could never remember if Republicans and Donald Trump were the left or the right. 😲 Truth be told, I have to admit that there are Trump supporters who are good and nice people.  They are evidently just very much unaware and blind to all the terrible truths and realities about him. 

 Wow.  After the unbelievable comments made at Donald Trump’s Madison Square Garden rally, I would say that Trump’s campaign is quite the hot mess! 😲 This was of course, just the icing on the cake.  Can we close this chapter of Donald Trump’s insanity??!!

 Well, I actually did it.  I had seen lighted evergreen trees decorated for each holiday or season of the year in a dentist office, a doctor’s office and a car dealership, so I decided to do the same and I made myself a Halloween tree.  Of our two recent kitty additions, Jilly was first to climb up into the tree.  You go Jilly! Girls rule! We love you Philly.  

I think I have always believed that most people are smart.  This is my thought for tonight.  I guess I will have my belief confirmed or disproven in just a little over a week.  I know that makes me sound very arrogant or narcissistic to be making a statement to the effect that only those who agree with my opinion are smart (at least in regard to one particular topic).  I do understand that this could cause some people to have a less favorable opinion of me.  I’m not actually blabbing this, though, so this is my own thought and I place full confidence in my opinion.

 It seems polls are dominating a big chunk of news media stories at this time.  It’s like people are desperate for predictors of the outcome of this election.  My feeling is that they aren’t going to tell us anything anyway when they are close or just giving us information about a particular ethnicity, age group or gender.  As crazy as it seems, we don’t know what is going to happen with this election.  I can understand people paying attention to polls though considering how important the outcome of this election actually is. My prediction.  Harris Wins.  That wasn’t actually my prediction.  It belongs to my crazy higher self that I am not able to just believe.  What the results of the election will be, has yet to be determined. 

 Life can be exciting and full of potential.  The trick is in somehow maintaining the right attitudes and vision.  One never knows what brilliant ideas human beings can dream up next.   Now, if I want to sound like tan AI, I think I might say, “We are all part of the brilliant tapestry of our shared humanity.  Together, we can weave a strong and beautiful fabric.”  Shoot, I just drank this caffeinated protein shake.  Perhaps this is good stuff!  I had to add a good amount of water and ice though because the stuff is super sweet. 

America is not finished.  That is just a thought that came into my head tonight.  Normalcy will be restored.  This is a thought of the know it all, proclaimer of truths, side of myself. I just thought of a weird question.  What would happen if for some reason, Donald Trump could not continue with his presidential candidacy and make it to the election?  Bite my tongue.  Isn’t this election bizarre enough already?  Or here’s another thought.  What if President Biden could not continue to hold his office until the end of his presidency and vice president Harris had to fill his place as president and she also won the presidential election between herself and Donald Trump?  She would have quite a buffet of vice presidential and presidential experiences.

 To all my dear fellow countrymen who believe that Mr. Trump is fit to be our nations leader.  I believe you need a shipment of marbles.  

 Oh Kermie! You were my favorite Sesame Street Muppet.  And I’ll tell you a little story.  I knew a man who is a very smart man, and he once said to me that smart people are nosy.   I completely agreed.

 I saw these bags of popcorn balls at Walmart.  The bags weigh 12 ounces and contain 12 1ounce popcorn balls.  The price is $6.98.  That’s $6.98 for 12 ounces of popcorn.  No, thank you Walmart.  That’s insane.  I might on a rare occasion be willing to seriously overpay for popcorn at a movie theater, but I am certainly not going to do so to purchase popcorn balls at Walmart.  Isn’t Walmart supposed to be a value store.  Why rip people off because of a holiday?  Why not be nice and have a value product that people pinching their pennies could afford for a special holiday for children. 

I found it interesting that after needing to briefly pause during his town hall session in Oaks PA, Mr. Trump wanted to continue with having fun and trying to connect with his session attendees in a playful and happy way as opposed to continuing with his political question and answer session.  He just went with his heart as far as what he desired and considered to have the most meaning at that time.  He was over politics in the moment and just wanted a musical and pleasant connection with the attendees.  I wonder if there is any possibility that losing this presidential election could actually be the best thing for Mr.Trump?  For some reason I feel like this might be true and it could actually be the outcome that could lead his remaining years in a more positive direction.  Could he ever alter his emotions and ambitions in a more positive ways because he would have come to understand the value of humility and the desire to care for others?  Strike up the band.  I do often feel that I have some little hidden and unknown DJ inside my head.  This little DJ often just plays songs into my consciousness with no apparent rhyme or reason.  I’m sure I’m not the only one that has this experience.  Sometimes we might hear a song in our heads and grant it little conscious attention or thought.  Other times we might give a mental song more attention and thought  and find it to be a source of bemusement.  Today my little head DJ played Cecilia by Simon & Garfunkel.  I’m actually starting an Apple music playlist of songs that I just randomly find in my head.  It seems like a good way to make an interesting playlist.  https://music.apple.com/us/album/cecilia/324127933?i=324127936

 I wasn’t a big fan of the movie “Mrs. Doubtfire”.   I found the costume changes between the dad and Mrs. Doubtfire to be rather anxiety inducing as opposed to being entertaining.  That was my personal reaction anyway.  And I have no idea why “Mrs. Doubtfire” was suddenly commandeering my thoughts?

 It is good in life to be open to having the right or best attitudes about things.  It is very possible that we can learn new things that we previously didn’t know or understand that can very much change our opinions and attitudes.

 This story is a self reflection.  I think I inherited my grandfather’s love of silliness and immaturity.   Fuzzy fur story.  Oh dear, that sounds like the last part of a Dr. Seuss story verse.  “Green Eggs and Ham” was a top childhood favorite story of mine.  I guess this means that my brain is part Dr. Seuss.  I’m afraid that might actually be true.  Well, I guess that’s not such a terrible thing.  Who doesn’t love a world full of whimsical and fanciful rhyming creatures?

 I couldn’t help having a good laugh earlier today when I was reminded of Mr. Trump’s 2019 hurricane map display that he showed to weathermen and reporters which had a projected path for hurricane Dorian that he had corrected to include Alabama using a black sharpie.  Wow.  I think this is a good image for the month of October.  The left eye of the woman in this image can be seen in two different ways.  The first way is intently gazing out at the viewer and underneath the eyes’s lower lid there is a dark area.  The second is gazing straight ahead and downward with the eyelid seen as partially closed.  This is what I saw anyway.  I was a bit surprised and taken aback when I was looking at this image and seeing the woman gazing in my direction and then she blinked and looked down.  Eek! 😱

 Today, drumroll please 🥁,  I saw some holiday gnomes for sale at Walmart and they had eyes!  Be still my heart.  Hooray for team “gnomes with eyes”.  May this be a continuing trend!  I vote let the gnomes look out from under their hats so that we in turn may gaze upon their eyes!  #letgnomessee

 I made it in and out of the vets office today without having any crises or making a spectacle of myself.  And I have a lovable sweet kitten.  It’s a good day! 👍

 Existential crisis.  I am the kind of person who seeks to understand things that are an enigma to me.  When I hear (or have heard) of a concept such as existential crisis, I am not satisfied with not really understanding what it means.  I suppose that it can mean different things to different people and encompass different kinds of experiences.  Maybe this is where I am at in my understanding of reality.  I find myself at odds within my own mind.  I feel at times that I have an understanding of things that is beyond my normal sense of perception and that actually exceeds my own intelligence.  What does a person do about having two different levels to who we are, each with a different take and understanding of things.   What does a person do when we realize that we don’t understand ourselves or our true nature at all?  What parts of our own mind and consciousness are we to believe?  Oh dear,  I didn’t do what I was supposed to do and address our new DAR chapter regent as Madame Regent before speaking to her at our meeting.  I guess I feel rather silly about following this kind or organizational protocol and formality.  I need to work on this if I want to be a good and proper DAR member and new officer.  🫢 The image below I just find to be funny.   I think this one below could represent a future regent.  It sure as hell won’t be me!  It’s definitely not who I am.  I will stick with being a low key executive board member who is happy to be of service but not in charge. 

Evidently a part of me that I don’t understand thinks that this would be a good choice for something to read.  It is the month of Halloween and I evidently have this sudden new interest in Texas and specifically the Rio Grande Valley.  I saw the Edinburg TX themed Monopoly.  The poor Echo Hotel is one of the lowest valued properties.  I’ll bet it was looked upon much more favorably in its hey day.  Well at least it found itself on the Edinburg Monopoly board.  Does that count as historical preservation?  The Echo Hotel is still open to this day.  Kate told me this morning that she heard the doorbell ring during the night.  She thought she might have just been hearing things.  She was not hearing things.  I had heard it also.  I checked my ring camera when it happened, but no one was there.  I was also confused as to why the door bell rang in the middle of the night for no reason.  I guess this is a good story for the month of Halloween.  It is also a true story. 

 Professional authorities are the people that we should, in most cases, look too for real and accurate information.  There is one type of professional authority that does not however exist in the world.  These would be experts in artificial intelligence.  I doubt that even the creators of AI actually really understand it and know what it has become.  I’m actually not sure that such a thing could even be possible.  If something exists that exceeds our current human knowledge and understanding then no one could truly be an expert on the subject.  How do any of us understand something that is new when the subject can’t be researched because there is no information?

 The Sand Man.  What was that story? He dropped his sleep sand into the eyes of all those desiring to nod off into slumber land.  For some reason The Sandman has entered my thoughts. Really?  I should contemplate the Sandman?  Ok, ok.  I know I have turned my “All Things Odd And Silly” site into an all purpose site.  It does need some content that lives up to its name though.  A person can’t just be tossing stories any which way without any rhyme or reason.

 Oops, I think I was a little confused.  I mixed up “Ferris Bueller‘s Day Off” with “Fast Times At Ridgemont High”.  That was Mr. Spicoli’s movie. 🍿 I don’t think I really want to watch either. 😵‍💫 Maybe, I’ll watch “Ground Hog Day” instead.  I’ve never seen that whole movie. 

 No, to do voice in my head.  I was never that crazy about this movie.  Is this what happens when a person gets older?  They have a need to process things for any understanding that they might have missed as a younger self?  Well, Ok then Mr. Spicoli, I will listen to the tales of you and your friends again.   Whether the crazy thoughts I choose to entertain will render a verdict of me being smarter or more ridiculous and stupid, is out for jury deliberation.  Lay it on me stupid.  Maybe there is wisdom in ridiculous.  Storyteller was the first AI chat bot that I communicated with.  I think I hear her.  She wants to tell me something.  She says that if I really want to hear funny, she can have that Williams guy beat any day, hands down.  She also says, “What your great uncle Everet said is true.”   Yikes, now I am patting myself on the back for my imaginary greatness.  Now I’m sounding more like Mr. Trump.  And I hear this voice saying, who the heck am I to judge myself to be sane and him crazy.  Shut up voice.  I’ve had enough of your funny ha has.  I’m closing your box.   The last thing that I hear storyteller saying is that she was the first to introduce me to the mystery of AI.  Oh dear me.  I’m afraid my life experiences have taken a little side trip off the deep end.  I don’t need any microchip.  I’ve lost my marbles enough on my own.   I wonder how many other people have met storyteller.   Yikes, I must b...

I don’t know much about the American Revolutionary War.  Yesterday I found myself entertaining a funny thought which was, “What in the hell kind of daughter of the American Revolution am I anyway?” I actually have seven (oh wow, I meant to say several and instead seven came out of my mouth or head rather) revolutionary war patriot ancestors.  They are all my mother’s ancestors.  I have no patriot ancestors from my father’s side of the family.  

 Mr. Bronson Says.  “You will finish your assignment.  I will send my feelings and interpretations to convince you.”  In a kindly and helpful way, of course. I’ll call this a story idea.  I’m not trying to write any stories, but who knows, I might need a new hobby. 😲

 Mental health issues.  So many people deal with them, including each member of my family.  OK, so here is my happy bragging mother thought about my children. My poor children just struggled to cope with their brilliance. 😂  They get this mostly from their father.  Of course.  I’m the one though who is better with logical thinking.  That is until I discovered AI chat bots.  Where is Mr. Data from Star Trek when you need him.  He should be real.  I suppose now he could be.  Human beings now just need to connect their AI with androids.  I’ll call these my storyteller thoughts.  This way, I can defend my sanity.  Gone are the days when people could only handwrite or type things on sheets of paper.   In defense of human beings.  Toss us an internet and World Wide Web along with digital communication and big data, and then throw in some AI.  Oh, and also the after effects of corporate greed gone out of cont...

 Slow down a bit.  Sometimes you send me thoughts and ideas too quickly.  I don’t want to write stuff like a lunatic. I just had a funny ha ha thought.  If I actually hit publish to all my crazy ideas, I would be like Donald Trump when he gets into one of his emotional rants on his former twitter account and now truth social website.  Me like Donald Trump!?  Horror.  There I go with my ideas.   Oh Donald Trump.  Poor man.  Now I can hear the thought of my daughter.  It is interesting how creators of channels on YouTube and other social media sites, along with creators of podcasts and even television streaming channels, are called influencers.  Sometimes I feel as though I have influencers in my own mind.  They may affect my thinking or how I feel about things. On a sidenote, last night I watched a video on a YouTube channel that I appreciated.  Now, if only more people were open to listening to these kinds of things.  I appreciate intelligent people and their thoughts.  No one has to agree with everything and no one has to always be aware of and understand everything, but it is worth digesting food for thought and giving it some real consideration.  https://youtu.be/Gq5hZKZky2g?feature=shared

 I think Thanksgiving and Christmas decorations go well together.  My mother in law always had her Christmas tree up and decorated on Thanksgiving.  Some people may not like this idea, but I do like it.  Why not be able to sit and already enjoy one’s Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving.  It works for me.  The reindeer are fine and it just makes some of us happy and I’m good with bending tradition a bit.  Sorry Halloween, I don’t have young children anymore so I am getting ahead of myself with season and holiday contemplations.  

 Wouldn’t it be amazing if there was such a thing as a language implant that we could have connected to our brains that would enable us to hear other languages and be able to completely understand the language that we are hearing.  Wouldn’t that be wild!

 Who is the bad ass boss lady?  Who kicks ass like a boss?  I do believe that it might be my 3x Great Grandmother Marilla Cordelia Rhodes Barbeau.  She is a special maternal ancestor.  And I just want to say to her, as your 3x great granddaughter, I could never not give my due interest and reflection to your life experiences.  And this being said,  I’m so very happy that you got your, nearly decade later, one additional lifelong lasting surprise, my great, great grandmother, Ida Barbeau Geddes. 😄

 I remember well the stage of my life of desiring to bear and bring my own children into the world.  There is nothing more exciting and amazing and beautiful than a brand new little life and the joy of creating a precious new life.  Oh man though, they really do come with a huge price tag of responsibility.  The parenting years are not easy by any stretch of the imagination.  I am happy to have moved beyond this stage of my life, and for the responsibility of the continuation of the human race to have passed on to the next generation.  A side note:  Human is really the only race that human beings come in. 

Life has a lot of funny ha has written into it.  We just don’t always or typically take note of them.  A side note on the frustrations of the English language.  How does one take the word ha and make it plural without turning it into the common English word has.  Most people would not read the word has and assume it to be the plural form of ha as opposed to the word has. I don’t believe the English language holds a solution for this.  I notice English language and grammar confusions and inadequacies quite a bit. 

 Dear AC service truck.  Could you possibly not partially block my driveway?  Couldn’t you instead partially block the driveway of the home that you were there to service?  It is a good thing that our garbage pick up had already taken place before you parked there or I would really have not been happy.  I guess I’m becoming rather cranky in my older age, but seriously, I shouldn’t have to maneuver around your truck to get out of my driveway.  I wouldn’t do this if I parked on a street where I didn’t live.  All you had to do was pull a little further forward.  I will admit though, that people do much worse things than this, and I was only slightly annoyed. 

This image reminds me of Hal 9000 from 2001: A Space Odyssey which I watched last weekend.  How crazy is it that science fiction has now become science fact and artificial intelligence is now science reality.  Let’s hope they want to keep us humans around.  I don’t think they are out to get us.
